KUANTAN: A 34-year-old housewife was found dead with two stab wounds on her body inside her house in Kampung Hijrah, Penor here today.
Norhasilah Ismail was found with injuries in her chest and stomach in the living room by her husband about 12.30pm.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Salleh said she died in the house.
investigations revealed that the incident occured when she was with her four-year-old son.
He said she had earlier sent her two other children to school at about 8am.
He said it was believed that her attacker had broken into the house and held her hands before she struggled to free herself.
"The attacker used a sharp object to stab her, and before leaving he locked her son in the bedroom.
"Her husband and two children who returned home about 12.30pm found her lifeless body," he told reporters at the scene.
Aziz said checks revealed that the intruder wore a mask and police were investigating if the attacker was known to her.
He said her husband Nasrul Mansor, 32, was a fishmonger and the couple had three children aged between 4 and 13.
