Parti Warisan Sabah Wira chief called in by MACC for questioning

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah Wira chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman has been called in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to facilitate investigation over mishandling of Federal funds meant for rural development projects in Sabah.

Azis was present at the Kota Kinabalu MACC office at about 10.30pm on Sunday to give his statement.

He was accompanied by party's deputy president Darell Leiking, vice-president Junz Wong, and information chief Honorsius Alfred Bosuis.

According to a party source, Azis was quizzed by MACC officers for less than 15 minutes, before leaving the office at 10.45pm.

However, Azis is expected to return to the MACC office at 10.30am on Monday.

A MACC source, when contacted, confirmed that Azis was called in to aid with investigations but stressed no new arrest was made as at 11pm.

On Oct 5, MACC detained Parti Warisan Sabah vice president Datuk Peter Anthony and a businessman at Sabah MACC officer after the duo gave their statements.

Another former deputy secretary of a division in the Regional and Rural Development Ministry was detained on the same day at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

The trio has since been remanded until Oct 10.
