Police cripple Topoi Hilux gang with arrest of 3 members

SEREMBAN: Police have crippled the Topoi Hilux gang following the arrest of three gang members in Genting Highlands recently.

The gang is believed to have been actively stealing Toyata Hilux in the state.

State Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Norazman Mohamad Yusof said police have received numerous reports of stolen vehicles, in particular the Hilux, which led to the formation a special team to investigate the matter.

“Police seized a Perodua Myvi, mobile phones and various tools believed to have been used by the suspects. We believe that the gang has been active since early this year,” he said at a press conference at state police headquarters Friday.

He added that police are still trying to locate stolen vehicles and the remaining gang members.

“We believe that the stolen vehicles were sold to buyers from other states below the market price. The three suspects, aged between 21 and 31, from Seremban and Nilai, have been detained under the Criminal Prevention Act (POCA) 1959,” he said.

He stated that to date, a total of 38 suspects have been arrested under POCA since January, which has exceeded their key performance indicator (KPI) set at 37 detainees until year end.

In another development, Norazman said police are also looking for three individuals to assist in the investigation of two murder cases in Seremban and Nilai, in 2015 and 2016.

According to him, they are Seh Woon Loong, 46, from Seremban; Wong Chun Yuen, 31, from Taman Mambau; and K. Nagarajan, 30, from Desa Cempaka, Nilai.

"Anyone with information about Seh and Wong can contact deputy superintendent Ahmad Jamaludin at 013-2935122. Meanwhile, those who have information of Nagarajan’s whereabout can contact assistant superintendent Rashid Kasim at 012-5183594," he said.
