Kim Chol murder suspects revisit scene of crime at KLIA2

SEPANG: The Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (Klia2) was a hive of activity today as two women accused of murdering North Korean citizen Kim Chol were brought here to revisit the scene of the crime.

About 40 journalists, photographers and videographers from both international and local media houses had gathered at the airport's departure hall as early as 6am.

The accused, Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28, arrived at the airport's departure hall just before 10am.

The departure hall was where Kim Chol was believed to have been killed using the highly toxic liquid nerve agent VX.

The women, wearing bulletproof vests, arrived under heavy guard escorted by over 50 Special Task Force On Organised Crime (Stafoc) personnel wearing black masks and uniforms.

The duo were also accompanied by their lawyers.

The prosecution team together with its witness investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz arrived about 9.15am.

The site visit was carried out as part of the proceedings of the murder trial, which has entered its ninth day.

High Court judge Datuk Azmi Ariffin is expected to be brought to the locations where Kim Chol was believed to have been smeared with the VX nerve agent, notably the self check-in kiosk at the departure hall, as well as the Menara Medical Clinic where the North Korean was believed to have sought medical treatment.

Siti Aisyah and Doan, along with four others still at large, were charged with murdering Kim Chol, 45,

The duo allegedly committed the offence at the Klia2 departure hall around 9am on Feb 13.

Their charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death penalty.

Kim Chol was claimed to be Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
