Police arrest 8 in connection with Senheng Kajang robbery case

KAJANG: Eight people, including a woman, believed to be behind the Senheng Kajang robbery in September, have been remanded for three days to assist investigations.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the suspects, aged between 35 and 55, were held separately in Seri Kembangan on Thursday.

Police also confiscated 23 smartphones and various tools believed to have been used for house break-ins.

Dzaffir said the suspects were detained under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house break-in.

In the Sept 21 incident, a 24-year-old manager of the home electronical appliance store at Plaza Citra was informed by his colleague at 9.15am that the store has been broken into.

During inspection, the manager found the grille door pried open and the store ransacked.

Twenty-two mobile phones and cash, amounting to RM5461.90, were missing.

“The closed-circuit television footage recorded an unknown man wearing a motorcycle helmet breaking into the store and taking away the items.

“The suspect is believed to have unlocked the padlock with a master key before prying open the grille door,” Dzaffir said.
