JOHOR BARU: A fake pistol and drugs were recovered from a man who was arrested for investigations into a road-rage case at the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) here.
Johor Baru North police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Taib Ahmad said the 34-year-old man was arrested around midnight in a hotel room together with another man and a Vietnamese woman.
"During the arrests, we also seized 3.19 grammes of suspected heroin and 9.95 grammes of suspected syabu as well as a fake pistol with the brand 'Beretta' in a car belonging to the suspect.
He said the suspect was arrested for allegedly using his car to try to ram into a multi purpose vehicle, with three people inside, while travelling on the EDL.
"When the three people stopped their vehicle, the suspect got out of his car and threatened them with a metal tool. The victims then continued with their travel and at KM6.3 of the EDL, the suspect once again tried to hit them with his car," Taib said in a statement.
He said the road-bullying case is being investigated for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
"We also seized the suspect's car and a metal tool that was believed to have been used to threaten the victims," said Taib.
