Man threatens to behead boy before abducting ex-girlfriend

KUANTAN: A man armed with a parang threatened to behead a young boy before abducting his former girlfriend at Kampung Alor Beruang near Sungai Soi here on Saturday.

The 4.30pm drama unfolded when the suspect, in his 30s, went to the house located in an Orang Asli settlement and assaulted his ex-girlfriend, 35-year-old Siti Khadijah Badar, repeatedly.

He then forcibly took her away.

Siti Khadijah’s s step-sister, Noriah Mahat, 16, said she and the victim were resting in the living room with two other siblings when the man pulled up in a car at 4.30pm.

She said the man dashed towards the house and smashed down the house wooden door, before hitting Siti Khadijah repeatedly.

"The man then placed a parang at my younger brother's neck, and asked for my elder sibling, who is known as Hisham. Hisham was not at home during the incident.

"He threatened to behead us if we did not give him an answer.

"The man continued to hit my step-sister (Siti Khadijah). A neighbour, who heard us screaming, immediately rushed to our aid.

"This caused the man to flee the scene with (Siti Khadijah) in her Proton Wira," she said, adding that they lodged a police report at the Jaya Gading police station later the same day.

Noriah said that Siti Khadijah, who works as a lab assistant at a school here, as having been close to the family since 2010, and would often spend the night at their house.

She said Siti Khadijah had sent her a text message on Sunday morning, confirming that she (Siti Khadijah) was safe.

Noriah said that the whole family is worried though as they could not contact the victim and that her whereabouts remain a mystery.

She described Siti Khadijah's former boyfriend (the suspect) as a hot-tempered person.

Meanwhile, district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali confirmed the incident but declined to comment further.
