Argentine embassy seeks Malaysians' help to locate abducted girl

KUALA LUMPUR: The Embassy of Argentina in Malaysia is seeking for the public’s assistance in locating Alum Langone Avalos, a 7-year-old Argentine girl, who was reported as missing since June 2017.

The embassy in a statement said Alum, at 1.25 metres tall with dark brown hair and green eyes, was believed to be last seen in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan and was heading to Kulai, Johor.

"Alum’s parents, both Argentine, are separated and the mother, Elisabeth, was granted full custody of the child. The father abducted Alum from her school and left Argentina illegally.

"The Embassy confirms that her former partner was recently seen with the child in different locations in Malaysia," it said.

Alum’s mother, Elisabeth Avalos is asking for the media’s attention on this case to bring home her daughter and is now in Malaysia hoping to put an end to her seven months misery being torn apart from her only daughter.

“The Malaysian authorities have been extremely cooperative with us, and we are very hopeful that we will soon find Alum. To be able to achieve this, any information from the public about the case will be very much appreciated”, said Manuel Balaguer Salas, Ambassador of Argentina to Malaysia.
