KOTA TINGGI: A 33-year-old man was arrested by police for smuggling and selling 250 cartons of contraband cigarettes at his shop in Felda Sg Sibol.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Superintendent Ashmon Bajah said the arrest was made today at 1pm when police was tipped-off on the contraband being hidden and sold secretly at the store.
In the raid, police seized 250 cartons of contraband worth RM20,000 comprising various brands that were locally produced in Indonesia.
"The suspect is a local resident there and we have detained him to facilitate investigation," he said.
