Pregnant woman craving for syabu among 7 detained for drug abuse

KUDAT: A seven-month pregnant woman who gave excuses for craving syabu was detained for abusing the drug.

The 37-year-old woman was one of seven people arrested by National Anti-Drug Agency in an operation dubbed Ops Perdana this morning.

The district agency chief Fazilawati Aji said during the operation, the woman was sleeping alone at her house.

“The woman admitted that she had taken syabu two days ago and gave the excuse that she was craving for it.

"She has three children who are under the care of her mother at her hometown. Her husband, who is a fisherman, had gone fishing,” she said when contacted, adding the three-hour operation started at 4.30am.

The other six arrested, aged between 27 and 37 years old, tested positive for drugs and were taken to the agency district office for further action.
