KUANTAN: The Sessions Court here today set May 23 to mention the case of a 41-year-old volunteer at a tahfiz centre here who was charged with 38 counts of sexually assaulting 10 students of the religious centre since last year.

Judge Siti Aminah Ghazali fixed the date after deputy public prosecutor Fatinah Abu Bakar informed the court that the prosecution had yet to receive the medical report on the victims from Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.

Nasrul Arman Ahmad, represented by lawyer Datuk Syed Azimal Amir Syed Abu Bakar, was charged with 29 counts of sodomising, six students at the centre and at his house in Taman Selamat, Teluk Sisek here, between July 2017 and February this year.

He was also charged with nine counts under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017 for sexual harassing and molesting four students of the tahfiz centre.
