GEORGE TOWN: A prominent DJ in the island’s club scene was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a Rapid Penang bus at Jalan Batu Feringghi here early this morning.
Jamie Louise, 45, died instantly in the 12.45am accident due to serious bodily injuries.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar said an investigation showed that the victim was en route to Batu Feringghi from Tanjung Bungah.
“The victim, who was on a Yamaha Ego Avantiz scooter, skidded into the opposite lane and collided (head-on) with an (oncoming) bus.
“His motorcycle was damaged, while the bus’s right front mirror panel was cracked,” he added.
The victim’s remains were sent to the Penang Hospital for a post mortem.
