15-year-old girl missing, left note saying she wants to find peace

KOTA KINABALU: A 15-year-old girl has been reported missing from her home in Luyang here since Friday.

The mother of Ngok Xin Yee was alerted by her disappearance when she found a note on a table in their house saying she wants to find some peace.

The family lodged a police report yesterday when she did not return home.

A source said the girl’s father and mother had contacted Ngok’s friends but did not get any information about her.

“The girl is believed to have left home without taking her identity card and mobile phone, but took some of her clothes in her school bag.

“She was last seen by the mother in her white shirt and black shorts,” the source said.

The girl had on two other occasions left home without permission but had returned home within 24 hours and no police reports were made.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner M Chandra confirmed the incident and said they had started a search for the girl.

“Any member of the public with information about the missing person can contact investigating officer Inspector Mohanaddas at 016-4414939 or the nearest police station,” he said.
