KUALA LUMPUR: Police today recorded the statement of Dr Shaariibuu Setev, the father of Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu, who was murdered in 2006.
In a statement, City deputy police chief Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob said the police have taken Shariibuu’s statement at 9am today.
Zainuddin confirmed that police has received the report lodged by Shariibuu at 12.03pm at Dang Wangi district police headquarters yesterday.
He added that the police would refer the investigation to the deputy public prosecutor’s office.
Yesterday, Shariibuu lodged a police report, urging the authorities to re-open his daughter’s case.
His lawyer, Ramkarpal Singh, said Shariibuu hoped police would re-open and investigate the case thoroughly including charging the culprit behind the murder.
