Body found half buried in durian orchard

JOHOR BAHRU: The body of a man was discovered half buried in the ground in a durian orchard in Bandar Baru Kangkar Pulai, here, two days ago.

The discovery was made at 2.30pm and the victim is believed to be a Malaysian, however his identity has yet to be identified.

Signs of decay were already apparent on the victim's face which had turned black.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief Asst Comm Noor Hashim Mohamad said they received information from the public on the discovery.

Initial investigation found that the victim was a man, however his race was not yet known.

"When we dug the body out, we saw that the victim was fully-clothed, wearing a red t-shirt and shorts.

"We also found a car battery's jumper cable near the body, however they were no obvious physical injuries on the victim's body," Noor Hashim said.

He informed that the distance between where the body was half buried to the main road was about seven kilometres and the distance from the orchard's dirt road was about five kilometres.

The victim was believed to have died between one to two weeks ago and post-mortem found that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the chest with signs of ligature strangulation.

"There were bruises on the victim's body, strangulation marks on the neck and a BCG immunisation scar on the left arm. The victim was not circumcised," Noor Hashim said.

Other distinguishing elements on the victim was that he was wearing an earring with the Nazi logo on his left ear and a stainless steel ring on his right hand, engraved with the words 'Forever Love'.

"We suspect the victim was involved in a same-sex relationship.

"We estimate his age to be between 18 and 40," Noor Hashim said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
