SHAH ALAM: Police has arrested six individuals, including a foreigner, for allegedly gambling online at two premises around Seksyen 27 here.

The six were nabbed during the Judi Online (JOL) operation which started at 10pm and concluded at 2am.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib said the raid was conducted following a stake out and tips from the public.

“In the first raid, a Shah Alam special force arrested a Bangladeshi man. We also confiscated a hand phone and RM200 in cash.

“We arrested five locals in the second raid and confiscated five tablets, a modem and RM370 in cash which were believed to have been used in the gambling activity at the premise,” he said, adding that the special force consisting of police officers from several divisions was established to curb this illegal activity.
