MIRI: In what appears to be a case of cyberbully, a woman attempted to commit suicide by downing various pills at her rented room in Jalan Permaisuri, here, yesterday.
In the 8am incident, the 21-year-old had reportedly swallowed sedatives and painkillers, among others, exceeding the recommended dosage.
A source told NSTP that the woman's friend realised what had happened upon finding the woman in a weak state.
The friend then rushed her to the Miri Hospital.
It is learned that the woman was stressed after an unknown individual circulated her pictures on Facebook.
"Among others, the woman was depicted as a cheap individual without morals by the unknown individual," the source said.
This, according to the source, led to the woman attempting suicide.
The source added that the woman was married and is reported to be in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
