KAJANG: A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly molesting his toddler daughters aged one, three and five at his home in Semenyih since last year.
The heinous act was reported by his wife, who is the mother of the girls, after the couple’s second child complained to their grandmother about the incident.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said the girls’ mother, who worked as a marketing officer, lodged a police report after being alerted on the incident on Oct 26.
He said medical examination revealed that the girls had old tear in their hymens.
Ahmad Dzaffir said the eldest daughter, who is the second victim, later revealed that the father had inserted his finger into her private parts and did the same on the youngest child.
“Investigation by Kajang Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division (D11) personnel revealed that the first victim (couple’s second child) had complained that she had suffered vaginal pain after being ‘poked’ by the suspect last year, but none (of the family members) believed her.
“At the time, her mother had brought her Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (PPUKM) but the doctor did not find anything suspicious (after carrying out examination on the girl),” he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Dzaffir said the mother’s fear was however confirmed when she brought the three girls for medical examination at the Kajang Hospital on Oct 24.
He said checks by the hospital’s gynaecologist and obstetrician showed that there was an old tear on the girls’ hymens, while the surgeon did not find any anal injuries.
“Following this, the man was arrested at 11.45am the next day at his work place in Sungai Long, here. The police brought the suspect to the Kajang court on Oct 26 to obtain a remand order from the magistrate.
“The case is being investigated under Section 376(b) of the Penal Code,” he said.
He said the investigation paper would be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor with recommendation for the man to be charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and liable to whipping.
