KULIM: A youth has been arrested after he threatened to kill his mother for failing to give him money to buy drugs at their house in Kampung Jeram, Merbau Pulas here.
In the 7am incident, the 19-year-old suspect asked for some money from his 47-year-old mother but she refused to give, resulting in them having an altercation.
Kulim police chief Superintendent Ahmad Nasir Jaafar said the suspect then picked up a knife and threatened to stab the woman.
Ahmad Nasir said the suspect yelled at her mother, saying ‘do you want me to kill you?’, resulting in the mother to run for her life.
She lodged a police report at the Sungai Karangan Police Station as she was worried for her safety.
“After receiving the report, police then located the suspect and arrested him at the house at 10.45am this morning,” he said.
The suspect would be remanded tomorrow and the case was being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
