HR undergrad pimp caught in police raid in Kelantan

KOTA BARU: A 24-year-old human resources undergraduate who acted as a ‘manager’ for three prostitutes was arrested during police raids on apartments Lorong Minyak Gas and Jalan Post Office Lama, here, on Tuesday.

In the 7.30pm raid, the second year student at a private university was arrested in front of an elevator at an apartment block at Lorong Minyak by a team from Kelantan police headquarters’ Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7).

Kelantan D7 staff officer Assistant Superintendent Mat Zol Ismail said the student from Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, acted as a pimp to deal with the customers.

“During the operation, police seized Iphone 5, apartment keys and a bag containing RM1,900 from the man,” he said when contacted today.

He said following that, the police arrested a 36-year-old woman from Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang while entertaining a male customer.

He said the police also arrested two women, aged 27 and 40; from Sarawak and Melaka at an apartment in Jalan Post Office Lama.

“The group’s modus operandi is to offer sex service through social media app WeChat before meeting customers at houses around Kota Baru.

“Investigations revealed the three women were freelancing and moved from a state to another, offering sex service for RM300 per session.

“Customers are required to pay a deposit after the negotiation process,” he said.

He said the illegal activity was exposed during an undercover operation conducted by policemen.

“We also confiscated sex lubricant, condoms, three mobile phones and RM2,925 cash believed to be earned through prostitution from the three women,” he said.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 12 he Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants (ATIPSOM) Act 2007.
