SANDAKAN: A ‘Mobile Legends’ gaming session turned bloody when a man lost his cool and attacked an 18-year-old youth with a machete at Kampung Tinusa Dua here, on Wednesday.
In the 10.20pm incident, it is learnt that the suspect got angry with the victim for turning up at his home and spending time playing ‘Mobile Legends’ with his female cousin.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azhar Hamin said the female cousin was staying with the suspect and their grandfather.
“When the victim was about to go home, the suspect approached him and asked what the duo were doing in the house. He then swung a machete and hit two of the victim’s fingers,” he said when contacted today.
He added that the youth managed to escape and sought treatment at Duchess of Kent Hospital.
The victim lodged a police report yesterday and police are now looking for the 30-year-old suspect.
“The victim has undergone treatment to reattach his fingers and he is reported to be in a stable condition. We are investigating the case under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing injury,” he said.
