Fracas at KL community police station, trio nabbed

KUALA LUMPUR: Three men who brought a fight, which started at a nearby restaurant, to a community police station in Jalan Datuk Eusoff, ended up being rounded up by police early today.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah said the men, including a Pakistani trader, have been remanded three days to facilitate investigations.

He said checks showed the fight started at 1.20am when two men approached the Pakistani trader who was having a meal at a restaurant in Jalan Ipoh.

"They were asking him about a fight that occured earlier at the area but when he told them he was not aware of the incident, one of the men suddenly punched the trader's face.

"During the scuffle, the Pakistani man picked up a rock and threw it at his attackers, hitting one of them on the head."

Mohd Fahmi said the Pakistani man then ran to the nearest police station, which was located at Jalan Datuk Eusoff for help.

"The two men followed him there and not long after, they started to trade punches right in front of the police officer on duty."

Police personnel at the station managed to break up the fight and arrested all three of them for questioning.

They have all been transferred to Dang Wangi police headquarters for further action.

Mohd Fahmi added that the Pakistani man and one of his attackers, who were injured in the fight, have been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.
