Cops looking for Perak PKR chairman in brawl probe

SHAH ALAM: Police are on the hunt for Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador who is the main suspect in a brawl which took 3 place at a sports centre in Ampang last Saturday.

Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said they want the politician to come forward and assist in the investigations.

“We are unable to trace Farhash. We have instructed him to come forward immediately to help in the probe,” said Fadzil in a statement today.

Fadzil said five people aged between 22 and 38 had been detained.

All of them were Muay Thai coaches who had been remanded to facilitate investigations.

One of them, who was a victim in the brawl, had lodged a police report on the incident but had retracted it on Thursday.

“This case will be referred to the state Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office for further action,” he said, adding that four of the suspects would be released on bail today.

“One of them would be handed over to the Cheras district police headquarters as he is on the wanted list for drugs,” Fadzil said.

The 9pm fracas was believed to have been sparked when the main suspect came into contact with the victim and assaulted him. Twelve local men were involved in the incident.

Fadzil had earlier said the complex management then told the suspect and the victim to leave the premises.

The victim proceeded to the motorcycle parking lot in the complex where he was attacked by 10 men with helmets, knives and chairs.

The victim’s injuries included cuts on his body.

Three of the victim’s friends tried to break up the fight but failed.
