Three sent to the gallows for murder

SHAH ALAM: Family members of murdered victim Muhammad Fairul Haqimmie shed tears of joy after the High Court sent his killers to the gallows today.

They were present when Judge Datuk Abdul Halim Aman read out the verdict.

The victim’s mother Norfauziah Jamalham, 68, said her family was grateful that justice was finally served.

“I am happy that after three years of waiting for justice, the murderers were finally handed the death sentence,” she added.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Fairul’s father Mokhtar Tan, 62, said the family had never failed to attend the criminal proceedings over the past three years.

“No matter how difficult it was, we would be present in court. And it has been worth the wait,” he added.

Earlier, when Abdul Halim was reading out the verdict, Norfauziah had to be carried by her husband out of the courtroom, as she is suffering from heart problems.

Mokhtar was later seen performing the sujud syukur (prostration of gratitude), while Muhammad Fairul’ siblings were in tears and seen hugging each other after the verdict was delivered.

The accused, Siti Nor Asiah Abdul Wahab, 28, Mohd Zulhiami Md Darus, 33, and Muhammad Rahmat Nazarudin, 25, was sent to the gallows for murdering Muhammad Fairul on Aug 29, 2016.

Based on Abdul Halim’s judgement, a witness had told the court that the victim was beaten, before his body was tied to a mattress and thrown into a river at Section 24, Shah Alam.

Until today, the body was not found.
