TENOM: An 18-year-old teen was arrested for raping his sister over the past three years.
Police detained the brother last night after the 15-year-old victim confided in her school teacher and mother earlier the same day.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Hasan Majid said the incest occurred since the girl was 12.
He added the victim said she was raped by the brother when they both were at home at a village here.
“She had never told anyone about the incident as she was afraid the suspect would scold her.
“However, the victim could no longer stand her brother’s actions and eventually reported it to the teacher and her mother,” he said in a statement, adding the brother was also studying at the same school.
The suspect is being remanded for seven days and being investigated under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
