Ex-minister's private secretary to face corruption charge tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: A former cabinet minister's senior private secretary will be charged with corruption involving almost RM3 million in the Sessions Court here tomorrow.

The case is believed to be related to a company which was awarded an advertisement project under the ministry.

According to the case list at the court, the case involving would be heard before Judge Azura Alwi at 9am.

On Aug 15, the Putrajaya magistrate's court allowed an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to remand the suspect to assist in investigations under the MACC Act 2009.

The 29-year-old man is in on a five-day remand until tomorrow.

It is learnt that he would be charged with more than 10 counts of accepting bribes last year under Section 16 (a) (B) of the MACC Act 2009. -- BERNAMA
