KUALA LUMPUR: Two vehicles in a parking lot near the Sri Putramas condominium, along Jalan Putramas 1 here, were destroyed in a fire this morning in what is believed to be an act of arson.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner S. Shanmugamoorthy said this was based on forensic findings by the Fire and Rescue Department which found traces of oil believed to have been used in the incident.
"Residents from the condominium units noticed the fire and alerted police who in turn informed the Fire and Rescue Department about 4.38am," he said.
However, Shanmugamoorthy said the owners of the two affected vehicles were yet to lodge police reports.
Investigations will be conducted under Section 435 of the Penal Code for committing mischief by fire.
