Police investigating Azwan Ali's viral video

KUALA LUMPUR: The police are investigating a video clip by Azwan Ali (Diva AA) for allegedly undermining the emergency proclamation that was declared by Yang di -Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

The 41-second video was made viral by a Facebook user with an account named Zai Mikail on Jan 12.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director, Datuk Huzir Mohamed said the Classified Criminal Investigation Unit (UJST) from the D5 division and the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department are conducting the investigation under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Huzir said Azwan was summoned to the USJT office in Bukit Aman today (Jan 21) to assist in investigations.

He said the police will continue their probe to identify the Facebook account owner who uploaded and circulated the video clip.

He also reminded the public to become responsible social media users and warned that individuals who deliberately threatened public order would face serious repercussions.
