Smuggled clothes worth RM39,000 seized at Kelantan border

RANTAU PANJANG: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 969 pieces of clothing items worth nearly RM39,000 in an operation here last night.

GOF Ninth battalion commanding officer Superintendent Nor Azizan Yusof, said no one was arrested in the 7.30pm operation.

He added the clothes were seized in a raid at a house in Kampung Che Da'ah near Gusl Tok Deh.

"A GOF team went to the house following tip-offs on smuggling activities, and after raiding the place, they found several gunny sacks at the back of the house.

"After waiting for a few minutes, no one come forward to claim the items," he said in a statement.

Nor Azizan said initial investigations showed that the clothes were smuggled into Kelantan from a neighbouring country.

He suspected the items would be distributed to local suppliers especially those in Rantau Panjang and its surrounding areas.
