KUALA LUMPUR: Police issued a fine to the organiser of a lion dance competition in Puchong yesterday for flouting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
A video of the competition held in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration was uploaded on the Warga Puchong Facebook page yesterday, with the person who posted it complaining about the lack of physical distancing.
Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner A.A. Anbalagan said, acting on the video, police deployed a team to monitor the situation.
"The spectators were found not to have observed the physical distancing at the location. The organiser was issued with a RM1,000 fine under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Amendment)," he said today.
