PJ police on trail of woman seen in viral video performing obscene acts on baby

PETALING JAYA: Police here are looking for an Indonesian woman seen in a viral video performing obscene acts on a baby.

Deputy district police chief Superintendent Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said the video was believed to have been recorded last year but only went viral this month.

He said the case came to light after the woman's former employers lodged a police report on Thursday.

"Initial investigations showed that the woman was the former domestic helper but has since returned to Indonesia," he said in a statement.

He said the woman worked for the employers for a year and a half, but her contract was not extended as she had disciplinary problems.

Ku Mashariman said police were now looking for witnesses.

"Checks (with the Immigration Department) showed that (officially), the woman had left the country on Sept 27, 2020," he said.

Sources said the woman may have re-entered the country illegally later, seeing as how the video was taken last year.

Meanwhile, police are looking for one Nenobota Marisa, from Indonesia, whom they believe can shed light on the case.

Anyone who has information on her whereabouts should contact the nearest police station or investigation officer Inspector M. Megenderan at 03-79662222 or 017-3356810.

The case is being investigated under Section 8(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
