KUALA KRAI: Two men were arrested less than an hour after they stole a four-wheel drive in Kampung Pahi here last week.
District police chief Superintendent Suzaimi Mohamad said police also recovered the stolen vehicle and seized several pills.
He said police began tracking down the stolen vehicle after its owner lodged a report on May 17.
"A high-speed car chase ensued after a patrol car spotted the stolen car when it passed by an area in Melor, Kota Baru, at 3.30am.
"Police managed to intercept the vehicle and arrest the suspects," he said in a statement today.
Preliminary investigation, he said, showed that the suspects, aged 29 and 39, had criminal records.
"Both men tested positive for drugs and are being held for further action," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
