It was reported on Aug 28 that police had detained nine people, including five women, over the death of a one-year-old boy on Aug 26, believed to have been abused.

Among those detained were the boy's 16-year-old mother, a school dropout, and her 34-year-old boyfriend, the main suspect.

Others detained were the mother's friend, also a 16-year-old dropout, and other family members.
