Housewife charged with stealing police officer husband's Rolex watches

IPOH: A 41-year-old housewife was charged at the magistrate's court here today with stealing her police officer husband's luxury Rolex watches, three years ago.

The accused, Datuk Mou Ei Leen however pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to her before magistrate, Siti Nora Sharif.

According to the charge sheet, she was charged with stealing a Rolex Sky-Dweller (Model 326135) with series number 0890R359 and Rolex GMT Master-II 9 (Model 116718 LN) with series number A9R56702 in a property storage of the premises.

The offence was allegedly committed at a house, Number 5, Laluan Rapat Ria 3, Pinggiran Rapat Ria here in January 2021.

The offence, under Section 380 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and a fine, upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Noor Nabilah Norzam was prosecuted while the accused was represented by lawyer Gurbachan Singh.

Noor Nabilah requested RM7,000 bail, however, Gurbachan pleaded for a lower bail, as his client is a housewife and needs to take care of her two school-going children.

"My client is in the process of divorcing her spouse, with whom she has lived separately for the past two years.

"During the alleged incident, the wife and her husband were still living together," he said in his mitigation.

The court then set RM3,000 bail with one surety and fixed Nov 22 for mention.
