MCKK bullying case: Investigation papers sent to DPP, say cops

IPOH: Police have submitted investigation papers on the form five students of Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) who were allegedly involved in a bullying case to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP).

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said that the investigation papers had been submitted to the state Deputy Public Prosecutor Office recently after police wrapped up the probe.

"We are waiting for further instructions from the deputy public prosecutor," he said when contacted today.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt which provides for a maximum jail term of one year or a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both, if convicted.

It was learnt that three form four students were being bullied by four form five students at the elite school.

Yesterday, it was reported that police have confirmed receiving a report over a bullying case involving form four and form five students at the all-boys boarding school.

Kuala Kangsar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said that police came across viral messages relating to the incident on Saturday after it was posted on Instagram.

"The bullying took place on Sept 24 at about 10.05pm. In the incident, the victim- a form four student- was beaten up by a form five student.

"The victim was then taken to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital by the school for further treatment.

Further checks showed normal physical findings and the victim did not suffer any serious injuries," he said.
