KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested six individuals and seized 10kg of syabu worth RM341,000 in a raid in Ampang last Friday (Nov 17).

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said this successful drug bust resulted from two raids on the lobby area and residences of the condominium on Jalan Ampang here, around 7.20pm.

The suspects include an Indonesian man, four Malaysian men and a Malaysian woman, aged between 26 and 46, who have been active members of a syndicate in Kuala Lumpur for the past two months.

Their modus operandi is to deliver drug supplies to customers according to orders received.

Police also seized three cars – a Toyota Alphard (valued at RM175,000), a Toyota Vios (RM40,000), and a Perodua Alza (RM75,000), bringing the total value of seized items to RM631,000.

He said all suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.

"All five Malaysian suspects have past records related to narcotics and crimes. The Indonesian citizen on the other hand, has no recorded offences.

"The Indonesian man is identified as the syndicate leader, with the five Malaysian suspects serving as syndicate members. Three of the Malaysian suspects have outstanding warrants related to narcotics and crimes," he said in a statement today.

Allaudeen said the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) was conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the source of the drug supply.

"All suspects have been remanded for seven days until Nov 24 to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

"The total quantity of seized drugs is enough to be used by 20,000 drug addicts," he added.

Residents are urged to continue providing information to the police to ensure appropriate action is taken against crime and drug-trafficking activities in the city.

Information related to drugs can be reported to the NCID hotline via WhatsApp at 012-2087222.
