After being acquitted, singer Yasin wants to return to his hometown

PETALING JAYA: Singer and composer, Muhammad Yasin Sulaiman intends to submit an application to the Selangor Sultan of Selangor for permission to return to his hometown.

He expressed this desire when met by reporters after being released and acquitted on three charges of drug cases by the Sessions Court here, today.

The court however ordered Yasin to be placed at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Perak.

The 48-year-old singer also admitted that he was anxious in the lead up to the announcement on the decision of his case.

"I didn't expect (today's result) actually. It was 50-50. To those who followed the trial, it seemed like it would be a victory, but I am always ready for a 'left or right' decision (free or found guilty).

"Now I need to return to Tanjung Rambutan (Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta) under the consent of the Sultan of Selangor to complete my bipolar treatment.

"I shall remain at the Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta for as long as the Sultan of Selangor allows it.

"After 20 months of going up and down the court, Alhamdulillah today ended well and I will not be here (court) again," he said.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Yasin's brother, Zain, thanked the court for ruling in favour of the singer.

"We have been waiting for this day for a long time. A week of sleepless nights as I had thought about the outcome of the trial. In the end, the result was very pleasing.

"We would like to say a thousand thanks to all parties, namely friends, lawyers, specialist doctors and the media. We cannot repay their kindness.

"Yasin was released but he would need to go to Tanjung Rambutan.

"Alhamdulillah, it is not a problem for the family because they are confident that Yasin will receive the right treatment there," said Zain.
