Neighbours say 'it's not the same anymore' after discovery of cemented body in Klang house

KLANG: The discovery of the body of a woman buried and cemented in the bathroom of a house near Kampung Pandamaran here has shocked residents.

According to them, the residential area has always been peaceful with good neighbours, made up of both locals and foreigners.

For them, the area is unlike some other places around Klang that are known for being 'crime hotspots'.

However, when police and the fire department were seen at midnight on Dec 3, it came as a huge shock. A neighbour who has been living there since 2006 claimed that the house in question often changes tenants, with both locals and foreigners residing.

"We are fine here, there are Malays, Chinese, Indians, and even foreigners renting here like Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, and Indonesians.

"They (foreign tenants) have never caused any problems and some even help.

"It was also surprising (to learn about the discovery) because there have never been any issues here," said a resident, interviewed here yesterday.

The scene around the house was calm, and only occasionally did residents come and go, including picking up their children from school.

There were also several police officers around the crime scene and they were seen locking up the rented house.

The stench of rotting human flesh would occasionally permeate the air.

Meanwhile, there are claims that the victim, who was cemented in concrete, may have been seen at the house between 2020 and 2021.

However, most neighbours declined interviews except when entering the house upon seeing reporters present.

Yesterday, the media reported that police confirmed the discovery of the body of an adult woman cemented in the bathroom of the said rented house.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that so far, police have detained a 53-year-old foreign male who is now under remand for seven days and identified two other suspects who are still at large.
