Zayn Rayyan murder: Police dispatch K9 unit to scope out surrounding areas, narrow down investigation [NSTTV]

PETALING JAYA: The police's K9 Detection Unit has arrived at the location where the body of the autistic boy, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, was found in Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, here, earlier today.

The detection dog named Ruby arrived at 1.50 pm and was seen retracing steps in the drainage area.

The forensic team from Bukit Aman police was also seen conducting an investigation at the scene.

Earlier, Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) chief of the Selangor police headquarters and Senior Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib, both arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fakhrudin Abd Hamid said the police would further detail the information obtained.

 

"The focus of today's investigation is to review information related to the scene and the surrounding areas to gather information about the residents.

"Through this information, we try to narrow down the investigation to track down the suspect," he said.

Earlier, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed that Zayn Rayyan's death has been classified as a murder after a post-mortem revealed injuries on the child's neck and body.

Zayn Rayyan's body was found in the drainage near a water retention pond 200m from his home at Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, here, at around 10pm last Wednesday.
