Police continue investigation at location where Zayn Rayyan's remains were found

KUALA LUMPUR: The police continued their search for new evidence and clues in the murder of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin at Idaman Apartments, Damansara Damai with their full focus being on Block R, which is also the block where the 6-year-old and his family lived.

As investigations enter the seventh day, police forensics unit vehicles were again seen entering the vicinity of Bock R at about 9.30am today.

Joining them were officers from the Fire and Rescue Department and the Drainage and Irrigation Department who were also seen entering the cordoned-off site at 10am.

The officers from the two departments were present to facilitate the pumping out of water from the area after an attempt to do so yesterday was hampered by heavy rain.

The Block R and area within the 200 metres radius from the discovery scene have been closed to media access, as police are still gathering clues at the scene and the surrounding area.

Yesterday, it was reported that efforts to pump ott the water started at 12.20pm but wee halted due to two hours of heavy rain in the evening.

Zayn Rayyan's body was found in a creek near a water reservoir 200 meters from his house in Idaman Apartments, Damansara Damai at about 10pm on Dec 6.

His death was later classified as homicide after an autopsy found injuries to the child's neck and body.
