Pasir Mas police issue nine summonses, seize 15 motorcycles after teenagers disrupt traffic amidst flood

RANTAU PANJANG: A group of youths took the 'opportunity' of the flood season to show off their skills by performing various motorcycling stunts ties in places which were inundated here.

The youths- all boys - performed the activities near a traffic light junction in Rantau Panjang town in the evening yesterday.

The traffic light was not functioning. However, luck was not on their side as their act of disturbing traffic flow in the floods caught the attention of local authorities.

Pasir Mas district police chief Assistant Commissioner Kama Azural Mohamed said a team went to the scene after receiving reports from motorists who passed by the area.

"At about 6pm, police received reports on activities that were disturbing public order.

"Acting upon the report, a team from Rantau Panjang police station was deployed to investigate the incident.

"They later seized 15 motorcycles to asssit their investigation into the case," he said in a statement.

Kama said the bikes were brought to Rantau Panjang station for documentation process.

He said police issued nine summonses to the motorcycle owners for various traffic offences.
