Lifeless infant found inside sanitation bin at a mall

KOTA KINABALU: A tragic discovery unfolded as the lifeless body of an infant was found wrapped in a towel inside a sanitation bin at a local shopping centre here.

The distressing discovery was made by a cleaning company supervisor during the routine change of the sanitation bin at the shopping centre.

Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Superintendent Kalsom Idris said that the police received the report at 9.40 pm.

"Investigations revealed that the female infant's body was concealed within the sanitation bin, wrapped carefully in a towel," he said.

Alongside this heart-wrenching discovery, a note was found expressing a desperate plea from the mother.
