Sanusi leaves MACC headquarters after 3-hour questioning

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has given his statement over a RM6 million graft probe involving the Kedah Football Association at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today, which took almost three hours.

A silver-coloured Mercedes carrying the Kedah Menteri Besar was spotted leaving the MACC headquarters at 11.37am.

Efforts to get comments from Sanusi over the development today proved futile after the car did not stop for a door-stop interview.

Earlier, the vehicle carrying the outspoken Pas politician was seen entering the compound of the premises at 8.30am.

Meanwhile, MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed the graft busters were recording a statement from Muhammad Sanusi.

"(It took) almost three hours. He arrived (at the MACC headquarters here) at 8.30am," he said.

Hishamuddin however did not elaborate on the details of today's developments.

It was reported last night that MACC was expected to summon Sanusi over the graft probe involving the KFA.

A source said the probe was launched after the MACC received a report from a contractor who had been promised contracts in the state if contractors channeled funds into the KFA account.

"However, after these contractors had done so to the football association's account, they did not receive any project as promised by the individual involved," the source said.
