PASIR PUTEH: Three people, a woman and two men, were taken into custody following a joint operation by the state Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, district police, and Pengkalan Kubor marine police.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry's state director Azman Ismail said acting on public tips, a 5am raid at Kampung Sungai Petai uncovered a stash of 8,793 litres of diesel in a residence.
"The operation, part of Op Tiris covering Pasir Puteh and border areas, resulted in the seizure of two lorries and a car valued at around RM130,000."
The trio, aged between 30 and 40, had allegedly acquired diesel from various stations, stored it in square tanks at their residence, and later transported it across the border in stages.
Azman added that the three are now awaiting further action.
