Brunei, Malaysia sign memorandum to enhance judicial cooperation

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia's Federal Court signed a memorandum of judicial cooperation to enhance cooperation on issues relating to dispute avoidance and resolution, according to a local media report on Friday.

According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin, the memorandum was recently signed and formalised ties between the judiciaries of Brunei and Malaysia, as well as establishing a working group to develop a plan of action to chart future judicial cooperation.

Prior to the signing, chief justices of Malaysia and Brunei held discussions on court administration, judicial education and training, as well as developments in the use of technology and voice-to-text transcription in court proceedings, according to the report.– BERNAMA-XINHUA
