KULAI: A 16-year-old girl has been reported missing from her house in the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital staff quarters here since March 5.

District police chief Superintendent Tan Seng Lee said the student, identified as Nurul Aina Najwa Abdul Fattah was last seen about midnight at the home she shared with her father, step-mother, and two step-siblings some 12 days ago.

About 6am, her father and step-mother realised that she was not at home and lodged a missing person report later that evening.

Police have launched a search for Nurul Aina Najwa who is described as plump, fair-skinned, wearing a head scarf and spectacles.

Her father, 35, who is an ambulance driver, and step-mother, 33, a tuition teacher, said Nurul Aina Najwa is a student at a religious school in Saleng.

She is believed to have lived with her grandparents at Labis in Segamat, before moving in with her father two years ago, and had expressed reluctance to attend classes at her new school in Saleng.

Tan urged those with information on the teenager's whereabouts to contact the Kulai police station at 07-663 2222 or investigating officer Inspector Teo Feng Shun, at 018-377 4339.
