Police on hunt for killer who shot security guard supervisor following territorial dispute

KLANG: A security guard supervisor who was shot to death here earlier this month is believed to have been killed following a territorial dispute.

Police have since launched a manhunt for a suspect who shot the victim multiple times in the incident at Jalan Mokhtar near Kapar town here on March 6.

Klang Utara district police chief ACP S Vijaya Rao said police were still looking for other leads but investigations so far revealed a vehicle used by the suspect during the shooting had false registration plates.

"We have gone through the closed circuit television camera footage around the incident location but have yet to secure any clear leads to assist investigations," he said.

Vijaya said the victim, 46, was shot in his right hand, right torso and shoulder, and was found to have prior drug and criminal records.

He added that five men had been detained to facilitate investigations but were released after their statements were recorded.

All five were friends of the victim who were present at the shooting and investigations ruled out any involvement.
