Appointment of new secretary-general at Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry

PUTRAJAYA: The deputy director of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) Datuk K. Yogeesvaran has been appointed as the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry (MPIC) secretary-general.

In a statement today, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said the appointment will take effect today.

Yogeesvaran takes over from former secretary-general Datuk M. Nagarajan.

He said Yogeesvaran have served in the civil service for more than 35 years since he joined as administrative and diplomatic service (PTD) officer in 1981.

"He has vast experiences in the field of economic analysis and financial management throughout his service.

"Among the positions he has held previously are EPU Rural Economic Analysis division deputy director and National Transformation Advancement deputy director-general," the statement read.

Ali also took the opportunity on behalf of the government, to record its highest appreciation and gratitude to Nagarajan for his contribution and service in MPIC.
