NST journalist selected for Khazanah-Wolfson Press Fellowship

KUALA LUMPUR: The New Straits Times (NST) is set to send its second candidate for the prestigious Khazanah-Wolfson Press Fellowship at Cambridge University, United Kingdom.

Journalist Lidiana Rosli, from NST’s Business desk, will undergo the 10-week fellowship which will run from 17 April until 23 June 2017 at Wolfson College, one of the 31 colleges of Cambridge University.

The other recipients are Melisa Idris, producer and presenter at BFM, and Asma Abdul Aziz, assistant general manager, Media Management & External Communications of Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

This is the second time that Khazanah is sponsoring a journalist from the New Straits Times for this prestigious fellowship.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony, Khazanah’s managing director Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar said that the selected fellows this year will be faced with an interesting situation.

“You are undergoing this fellowship during a most interesting time as the world is undergoing a period of adjustment with the likes of Brexit and the political happenings in the United States and other European countries,” he said.

“I hope the fellows who are selected this year make use of their time there and return with something useful for their respective organisation as well as the country,” Azman said.

Khazanah has been sponsoring the fellowship since 2013.

Also present at the ceremony were NSTP chief executive officer, Datuk Abdul Jalil Abdul Hamid, TM Group chief executive officer, Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa and BFM chief executive officer, Malek Ali.
