LAWAS: Two brothers perished when fire gutted a double-storey house in Kampung Melusok here, early today.
The charred remains of Teo Yin Tiong and Teo Yin See were found inside one of the rooms in the house following the 2am blaze.
The cause of the pre-dawn fire has yet to be ascertained.
A State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said eight firefighters in one engine were deployed to the village upon receiving a distress call at 2.19am.
"We started inspecting the house (after the fire was doused) and found the bodies of the victims in one of the rooms inside the premises," he said, adding that the team took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
